Are you already in need of little R&R and some “me time” and the holiday season has just begun? Here at Lakeside, we understand that there is a lot of planning, preparation and even stress that goes into making the season memorable for you and your family. As you plan your meals, travel plans and gifts, remember to also plan some time to sit back, relax and enjoy the moment!
We are all guilty of getting stressed out from time-to-time, especially during the holiday season. There are five things we believe will help to reduce your stress levels and allow you to keep calm during this busy, but exciting time of the year. First, you need to stay healthy! Losing time because you are fighting a cold and stuck in bed could put you behind. Make time for daily exercise, even if it just a 30 minute walk, drink plenty of water and make sure you get plenty of sleep. Secondly, plan ahead. If you aren’t a person that loves to make “to-do” lists, the holiday season is the best time to start. By making a “to-do” list, it will help to keep you organized and can help to make your gift and food shopping for the holidays easier. Another way to alleviate your stress is by simply burning some aromatherapy candles or using essential oils. While you burn your lavender aromatherapy candle, take a few minutes to meditate. Just a few minutes of meditation can help to ease your stress. Lastly, if you find yourself unable to relax from the comfort of your home, head out and treat yourself to a massage, manicure or pedicure. We are fortunate to live close by to several nail and spa businesses that are guaranteed to take the holiday stress away!
As you maneuver yourself and even your family through another holiday season, remember to plan your R&R time, exercise and sleep. Also, keep in mind the meaning of the holidays and appreciate the season.
