We are so excited about the Halloween season and can’t wait to see all of the creative costumes we know everyone will put together! Halloween is a fun time for both kids and adults! At Lakeside, we want to help our community make the most of Halloween and stay safe this year!
During the weeks leading up to Halloween, do you find yourself asking some of the following questions?
- Will my child’s costume be bright enough for cars to see?
- What time should I let my child go trick-or-treating?
Ease your Halloween worries with these ten Halloween safety tips for you and your family:
- Bring a flashlight or wear glow sticks to be seen at night.
- Only knock on doors at Lakeside that are displaying the “Trick-or-Treaters Welcome” door hanger.
- Trick-or-treat in neighborhoods that are familiar to you or to homes of people you know.
- Remember to stay out of the street and to use the crosswalk.
- Make sure costumes are safe to walk in and see out of throughout the evening.
- Make a plan for your trick-or-treating route.
- Trick-or-treat with a group of friends, never alone.
- Have an easy-to-carry Halloween candy bag.
- Throw out unwrapped or open candy.
- Check all candy and treats before enjoying your treats!
Use these tips to start that important conversation with your family this year before heading out to trick-or-treat. We want everyone at Lakeside to have a fun and safe Halloween!
