Open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily (with a noon start on Fridays for course maintenance), Fairfax County’s Twin Lakes Golf Course is once again welcoming guests this summer. This treasured public course features two distinct 18-hole experiences that offer a range of challenges for golfers of different ages and abilities.
The older course, the Lakes, opened in 1967 and is rated as a par 72. Though it’s a touch longer in range (making it excellent for working on big drives) the fairways are broader, making it a more forgiving course for beginners. The Oaks, which opened in 1998, is a tree-lined par 71 which demands accuracy from its family tee boxes. On-site practice facilities include a 36-station driving range (covered tees available), a grass teeing area, practice chipping, putting, and bunker areas, and more.
