You might have noticed more and more men sporting mustaches around November, and while the colder weather is one reason to grow some extra facial hair, Movember is an even better cause. Movember is an annual initiative that aims to raise awareness about men’s health, including common concerns like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
If you’d like to participate, here’s how.
–Grow a mustache for Movember. This is the main way to participate: simply grow a mustache in an effort to start the conversation about men’s health, which is the first step in prevention.
–Host a Mo-ment. Want to raise funds for the Movember Foundation? Host a get-together with friends, family or coworkers, such as a dinner party, a golf game or a group shave-off. However you choose to raise the funds, your money can support research into common men’s cancers or go toward supporting men living with these diseases.
–Make a donation. If you want to make a donation independently, you can do so on the Movember Foundation website. Make a donation to an individual or team that you support, or give funds directly to the organization as a whole.
