Over the past three-plus decades, the Virginia Turkey Trot has fundraised approximately one million dollars for causes near and dear to your local community and its families. So participating in the 31st Annual Virginia Turkey Trot isn’t just a great way to balance out some of that Thanksgiving feast, it’s also a prime opportunity to support your neighbors.
Before you tuck into that first spoonful of mashed potatoes on Thursday, November 24th, join forces with fellow runners and walkers in Centreville to combat the scourge of addiction. This year’s beneficiary of the Turkey Trot is The American Boy Project. The nonprofit provides resources to anyone suffering from addiction who doesn’t have the means to access the healthcare services they need in order to survive and thrive. Proceeds from your registration fee ($5 for the 2K walk or $40+ for the timed 5K) go directly toward this mission. Come to the Centreville starting line at least 10 or 15 minutes before the 8 a.m. start time if you’re running the 5K or the 8:05 a.m. start time if you’re opting for the leisurely walk.
